The linen chamber E 4

The name of this room is found in the bipartite horizontal inscription between the undecorated base (soubassement) and the first register. It is the linen chamber where the clothes for the statues of the deities were stored. These statues were dressed every morning during the daily temple ritual.

On the east wall in the back are the best preserved reliefs of the temple. It is an offering of a double feather crown to the god Min-Ra, the goddess of Akhmim Aperetset and the temple goddess Repit. Min-Re is depicted with an erect phallus, a raised arm with a flagellum and a double feather crown which pierces the sky. Behind him is his characteristic round hut. Aperetset wears a Hathor crown on her head, and the lion headed Repit wears a sun disk, as she almost always does at Athribis.
