Station E1

Group of rooms E 1 to E 3

Room E 1 is a passage leading westwards to offering room C 1 and northwards to the roof and the subsequent rooms E 2 and E 3. Room E 2 is the courtyard of the first festival and E 3 is the so-called wabet; both rooms are associated with the celebration of the new year. A feature of the first room E 1 is the many texts.

On the east wall is a long hymn running over two registers for the child-god of Athribis called Kolanthes. The menu chant can be found in the second register of the south wall, written in very small hieroglyphs and describing brewing instructions for Hathor, or rather in Athribis for Repit, in 18 steps of poetic and thus hard to understand language.

The long inscriptions on the west wall to left and right of the door to offering room contain extracts concerning the daily offering cult.
